Upgrades and Patches

The upgrade patch for ZumaStat 4.0.1 is now available.  This is for users who already have ZumaStat installed on their computer and want to upgrade to version 4.0.1. It will not work unless you have an earlier version of ZumaStat installed on your computer.

Since the release of 4.0, I added patches to correct a few minor bugs. This minor patch upgrade was added on October 25, 2006. There are no new utilities at this point, only a few patches (the most significant one of which was to correct an input problem on calculation of simple slopes in the regression utility). I will be adding new utilities in September.

In the 4.0 upgrade more generally, we added a new interface to make navigating around ZumaStat much easier. We added utilities that allow you to do multiple imputation missing data analysis in conjunction with the freeware program Amelia. We added power analysis programs for meta-analysis as well as programs to conduct meta-analytic contrasts for random effects models. We added a utility to pool correlations for structural equation modeling in meta-analysis. We added power analysis programs for a wide range of multi-site and cluster randomized designs, including comparing growth curves in two groups. We added confidence intervals to the hierarchical regression program and a variety of utilities designed to assist in the analysis of change over time. We also streamlined and cleaned up a few odds and ends in existing utilities. 

This upgrade is being made available as of October 25, 2006.  So, if you upgraded prior to that date, you should upgrade again by clicking below on the link for the download.

To download the upgrade patch, click on the link below, save the upgrade.exe file to a folder on your computer, then double-click on the upgrade.exe to execute the file and start the upgrade. After the upgrade is complete, you can delete the upgrade.exe file from your computer, if you wish.  This upgrade works whether or not you have updated in the past and it includes all previous upgrades within it.  So, once you run this one, you will be up to date. Make sure SPSS is closed when you run the upgrade.

ZumaStat has several utilities that link with the program called Amelia for purposes of analyzing missing data using multiple imputation strategies. The Amelia program is available on the website http://gking.harvard.edu/stats.shtml and is a state of the art program for dealing with missing data. It is very easy to use. You also can download Amelia (for Windows) here by clicking the link below. Create a folder on your c drive called amelia and then download the file to it. Then double click on the file to execute it and install Amelia. You can then use the ZumaStat utilities to coordinate communication with it.
