Program Dynamic
Sometimes we want to illustrate on a single graph how
regression lines differ for two or more groups. ZumaStat allows the
user to create an Excel plot (from within the SPSS environment) that plots
up to five regression lines on a plot. If you only want to plot a
single regression line, that is possible as well.
From SPSS, the program asks the user to
input labels for the outcome variable and the predictor variable. You
then indicate the lowest and highest values for the X axis and the Y axis
and the lowest and highest values that occur for X.
In the example below, we want to plot 3
regression lines on the same plot to show how they differ from one another.
We input the slope and intercept for each and ask ZumaStat to show the
legend.
After the user presses Create,
ZumaStat will automatically start Excel and create a plot with the three
regression lines.

The Output
Here is how the Excel worksheet appears that is generated by
ZumaStat:

The data used to generate the lines is at the top of the
worksheet and can be edited if you want to change the lines. ZumaStat
provides brief instructions for editing plots in Excel.
The plot can be selected and copied and pasted into Word,
Powerpoint, or other software programs.
Generating Microsoft compatible plots from SPSS is easy.
